Repeat behaviour
Late October 2022
For most of October I have been returning to this waterfall at the top of Barron Gorge each Saturday afternoon. The goal is to swim under a rainbow.
I know what time I have to arrive there to see the sun hit that waterfall and create the rainbow. All I need is a blue sky day and we had plenty of those in October.
Once the light hits the waterfall the rainbow appears and I am in for a swim. The water temperature is just right now for a longtime Far North Queenslander sensitive to the cold.
Since mid September the water has been warm enough to swim in. October it became a weekly event.
The start of November has seen the rain arrive. it will not be long before these waterfalls will flow again. For now however my eyes have turned to the Tablelands. With some normality back in my life I have returned to roaming.
