Things never stay the same

January 2022

Ellis Beach mid Janauary

I have had plans to retake this photo in better light but the weather has not been kind in the afternoons and I have been too lazy to get up early enough to shoot it at sunset.

On one day that the weather was good and I was there the sand was wrong and the tide was too far out.

Juvenile Crested Tern

if you look at the rock way out in the sea in the previous photo you will see some birds on it. They are Crested Terns as is the bird in the photo directly above. As I made my way to the tree on this day he was trying to tell me that there is some shitty weather coming….or was just pooping in my general direction.

About 5 minutes before I got totally drenched.

That bird was not wrong. Like most of late January the afternoons have seen heavy rain. That rain hit me about 5 minutes after I took this photo. By the time I had packed up my camera gear I was drenched before I could get my poncho on.

Early January 2022.

At this small section of beach there are also some stunning rock formations. I plan to keep on trying to get photos that do the place justice. This is the same section of beach that I see the Eastern Reef Egrets feeding and also wrote this post about a while ago.
