Another sunset with Brolgas and then a sunrise.

My first Brolga sunset.

At the end of November I was in the Swamp for the first time to see the Brolgas return from the farm lands to rest for the night. I did not get many good shots so was keen to try again.

Nearby farmland.

I am guessing that the nearby crops offer an array of food sources for the Brolgas. I am not sure what this crop is but I often see Brolgas in the field during the day.

Back in July 2020 when things were a lot greener the Brolgas would dance and carry on in the fields. This was as close I as I could ever get at the time.

The harvested dry fields in December 2020.

In December 2020 a lot of the fields have been harvested and it is a lot hotter. It appears that as the weather gets hotter the Brolgas have become even shyer.

Last sunset with the Brolgas I got only one okay photo. This time I got 3 okayish before the light faded but I stuffed up with my camera settings…..oh well. Super clear blue sky with the setting sun casting an orange tint over the birds.

The first photo I particularly like because you can see that both birds were looking at me and calling out as they flew over.

The next morning just before sunrise.

I had so much fun I headed back out to the swamp for an even redder sunrise the next morning. You can just see the first Brolgas to leave the Swamp that day flying past the rising sun. More photos from that later.
