Relatives and Customers in Japan
March 26th 2011
My last post to the website was regarding some earrings I had just made for a customer in Japan. Several days after that as we all know a horrific earthquake and resulting Tsunami devastated a large portion of Japan.
Having lived in Japan, my wife being Japanese and my children being dual citizens of Australia and Japan, this event has been of great concern to my family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of our friends and customers in Japan that we have not yet contacted via telephone or email.
Just before the Japanese disaster Joanne came to see me about making a ring to commemorate the graduation of her son from University. She asked me to finalise the design and make the ring ready for her to pick on her return from her holiday in Japan.
This of course meant that Joanne was in Japan during the disaster but fortunately was not directly effected. We had agreed to communicate via email regarding the the ring during her holiday so I was able to contact her and confirm she was safe.
Joanne is now back in Australia and the ring I have made for her son is pictured above. It features the emblem of the Northern Arizona University which her son attended in 2007 and 2009.
Before I finish this post, I would like to thank all of the customers
that contacted me regarding Yumi`s family, who are thankfully all safe including her sister that lives in Sendai.
