Champagne Diamonds

March 18th 2011

Champagne diamonds have for a long time been a favourite of mine. In the modern diamond market there is now a wide range of treated coloured diamonds. Most Champagne diamonds however, like this one, are naturally coloured and come from Rio Tinto’s Argyle mine.

If you are like myself and a fan of Champagne diamonds, then you will be pleased to know that they are usually less expensive than white diamonds of a comparable size and quality.

It has been a while since I had the pleasure to set a Champagne diamond as large and as rich a brown colour as this one. The diamond weighed 1.10 carats and was set into a simple 18ct white gold solitaire ring to highlight its colour and size.

I hope every one is having a wonderful break and I wish you all a very happy and safe Easter.
