Late September in Barron
Every year in late September we get a splash of colour in Barron Gorge. The leaves on the trees change colour for a week or two. They then drop and we are all green again once they grow back.
About the same time the Bottle brush flower and add a bit of colour to the Gorge as well.
Last weekend on a very hot day my son joined me for a walk up to Devils Pool. Right down to the waters edge the bottle Brush can be seen in flower. Climb up that waterfall and you can go all the way to Kuranda.
The birdlife love the Wattles just as much as the kayakers are still enjoying that clear water down the Barron.
