Finding Spring colour
Last year in September I noticed that Barron Gorge has a short period where some colour breaks up the normal landscape of green on more green. So this September I have been keeping an eye out for it and recently noticed the arrival of Spring colour to the Gorge.
Up the front in the previous photo there was a Bottle Brush flowering. I see these right through the Gorge.
To the back of that photo was one of the usually dark green trees backlit revealing a transformation to a softer orange green colour.
As I climb my way over rocks further up the Gorge trees that have transitioned to a richer orange colour become visible.
I will keep my eye on the Gorge for the next couple of weeks as I expect more colour to become visible. Above are some other splashes of colour from the day.
Even where there was no colour that day things like a tree growing out of the middle of a rock in the middle of a river ……I find fascinating.
As I sat there not far from that tree growing out of a rock, sunset came and went putting on a lovely splash of colour out towards the ocean. Great end to a day in Barron Gorge.
