Gillies Range Road
I have a spot on Gillies Range Road that I stop at on the way home from the Tablelands very often. It does not happen as often as the spectacular after-burns but sunsets at that spot can be breathtaking.
It is always different and the sunsets after-burns are often truly spectacular.
In September 2019 I was there for another spectacular sunset. On that occasion the tree had a bit more foliage on it.
This photo was taken at the same spot but in another direction. That is the wind farm on the Tolga side of Atherton far off in the distance.
Back in May 2020 I took this photo of the wind farm from the same spot. One of the most spectacular sunset after burns I have ever seen followed the sunset above.
When the sun dropped below the horizon it bounced colour up onto the same clouds that it dropped down from behind, creating a blanket of colour in the sky.
