Back in Barron Gorge
On the hillside of Baron Gorge there are wonderful little and not so little waterfalls with ponds that you can take a swim in or just sit next to to relax. You just have to be game enough to climb up to them.
In the Gorge it is very easy to get distracted by the huge and beautiful rock formations that line the base.
The patterns on the rocks are art like in places on a huge scale. When the rocks are wet they come to life even more.
Following the water up the Gorge is a great way to spend an afternoon.
If you walk far enough in you will be very close to underneath the Kuranda Skyrail…….which sadly is not as busy as it used to be with tourists.
Turn your eyes up the sides of the Gorge and you will view waterfalls that flow down into it adding to the water volume.
As I climbed up the side of the Gorge along this waterfall, looking back I could see the water flowing down the hill to meet the water in the Gorge.
Continuing further up this is about half of the length of the falls. I was not prepared to climb any higher.
I was more than content to sit at this lovely little pool of water and relax for an hour or so. There are many beautiful spots like this in the Gorge and most of the time you have them to yourself.
