Storm, sunset and a snake.
10th March 2020
The last couple of weeks we have experienced a lot of very varied weather. My wife and I went to the beach for dinner one evening. As we waited for a sunset that never happened due to the clouds this storm cloud drifted along the coast line towards Cairns right in front of us.
It was like that storm was a world away as we sat in a little bit of light and people walked and ran on the beach past us. Just as we got in the car to go home the rain started to fall on the beach.
Of late the after burn in some parts of the sky has been stunning but I am not always out and about to take photos. I probably visit Barron Gorge twenty times to get one nice sunset after burn like this. I love how the colour reflects on the water and the clouds in this photo.
After that sunset as I made it to the car I noticed this snake on the road. A man riding a bicycle stopped and told me it was a non venomous Bush Python. We both just sat and watched the snake for a while.
Just as the snake was making its way across the road a runner came towards us but she had earphones in and could not hear us shouting to her that the snake was there. She jumped pretty high when she finally spotted it just before she ran over it :)
