Pepina Falls - Old Palmerston Highway

December 2020, the water flow just as I like it.
When I first blogged about Pepina Falls with the above photo I wrote “Not the photo I wanted but pretty happy with how I improvised.”
Fast forward 4 years and after quite a few visits I now realise this is the prettiest I have seen the falls. The water flow in the above photo is what I desire at a waterfall. Not too heavy and not too light.
January 2023, the water flow a bit too heavy for my taste in a photo.
I often stop at Pepina on the way home from Ravenshoe late afternoon to have a drink break. Since that previous photo taken in 2020 the make shift little walking planks are gone and some very interesting deadfall in the water at the base has been washed away.
I tried quite a few times to get nice photos of that deadfall sticking up out of the water with the waterfall as the back drop. That photo is gone for now.
The Falls are on the Old Palmerston Highway which starts off the Kennedy Highway just outside Ravenshoe as you head to Atherton and finishes right at the township of Millaa Millaa.
