Comments:

When I originally created this design it was lower from the finger and the sides solid. After some discussion with the customer she informed me she desired a straight wedding ring.

To allow for that straight wedding ring the engagement ring top had to be raised. 

To break up that solid view of metal on the side I created a trellis like design that matched the flow of the top view. When I get time I will write a more complete article about the design process of this ring.
