Make and melt piece #9

At the very beginning of the COVID 19 shutdown a young man came to me hoping to have an engagement ring made. He was after a classic diamond solitaire in the design shown above.

His budget allowed him to purchase a larger diamond than anything I had in stock at the quality he desired. With everything shutting down and no chance to get a diamond to suit in time, I offered to make him a proposal ring using a smaller diamond that I had on hand. We would swap both the ring and diamond out when everything reopened.

On the left above you can see the diamond that the couple selected once everything opened up. The proposal ring on the right has now become “Make and Melt piece #9” .
The proposal ring now unset and ready for scrapping.
The proposal ring will now be taken apart and melted down. The details of the engagement ring are as follows:

GIA certified and laser inscription
18ct palladium white gold setting
