A postponed overseas wedding
13th March 2020
The wedding ring I am going to share with you today was meant to be for an overseas wedding this month but like a lot of plans at the moment has been put on hold.
I created this engagement ring in late 2019. One of the hardest things with this ring was to meet a customer request for the blue sapphires to have a gradual taper in colour from dark to light.
Like all my engagement rings we designed the wedding ring at the same time. This meant that the process of making the wedding ring was straight forward and relatively hurdle free..
We had to make a few very slight changes to the design as we took it from an image to metal but overall the planning meant that everything went smoothly. Below are the details of the rings:
Engagement ring
.50ct Diamond
950 Cobalt Platinum alloy
Australian Blue Sapphires
Wedding ring
950 Cobalt Platinum alloy
.125 carats total diamond weight
I hope everyone gets through the virus. Health is the most important thing but a big side effect of the measures taken to protect our health has meant Cairns is very badly effected economically. Many individuals and business’ have far less work than usual or none at all.
I was up the Tablelands yesterday, just an hour or so drive away, and life appeared pretty much unaffected up there. For all my friends and customers up the Tablelands I hope my perception is correct for your sake.
As much as you can I hope you all have a great weekend.
