Rufous Fantail
The male and female look similar. They fly in short acrobatic bursts. When they do land they are constantly moving which makes them very hard to photograph.
The bill and eyes are dark brown. Frons, eyebrow orange-rufous. They hawk (catch in flight) for insects which is their main food source.
The back is also orange-rufous.
The tail is greyish with a orange-rufous base and paler tips.
The throat is white and the chest below has a black band on top of black and white mottling. The belly is white and the flanks and undertail buff.
Breeding is from October to February laying 2-3 eggs. . They make a small cup nest in a shaded tree fork.
