Peaceful Dove

They are quite common in areas with water. This couple were at a Swamp..They like to feed on the ground with a diet of seeds, grasses and the odd insect.

Sexes are similar and this bird also looks similar to the Bar-shouldered Dove but a bit smaller. They are a small bird at just 200 -240 mm.
Over all colour is a pink - grey and grey- brown with fine barring on the upper chest. I also find the blue eye ring quite distinct.
