Tablelands

I visit customers on the Tablelands at least once a month. Sugar cane continues but the dairy industry is a small fraction of what it used to be there. Beef cattle and crops have taken much of it’s place.
Sun drops behind the clouds as I talk to this cow. This would turn into a beautiful sunset.
If you love sunsets then the Tablelands are for you. I often try to finish at about 5.30 on trips and head to a favourite spot to watch the sun go down. At this spot near a tree I like, cows come over and have a talk. This sequence of photos will show you how what looks like a boring sunset can turn into a thing of beauty. You just have to be patient.
As the sun lowers the colour starts to strengthen….. and the cow is gone.
People who love taking photos have no problems waiting for light. My wife does not share this patience :) On this day on my own I got to wait. The presence of the cloud meant I would get some nice colour bounced of them with a bit of luck.
The cows forced me to move.
Some days the cows stay out of the way, others they stand in the right places and on days like this one they get a bit too friendly. Just as the sun started to put on a show the cows started coming in from the right on mass so I quickly moved left and got this shot.
Perhaps the cows were telling me something.
