Q. What is a Pink Ruby?
A. A Pink Sapphire.
Rubies and Sapphires are both gems of the mineral Corundum. The differences in colours are brought about by impurities found in the gems.
So a Pink Ruby and a Pink Sapphire are the same thing however it is more common to refer to pink corundum as Pink Sapphire.
I refer to the gem as a Pink Ruby here because that is what the owner, who is a gemmologist, refers to it as. Who am I to argue :)
