Diamond alternative - Moissanite

DR2001
Charles and Colvard Moissanite
4.5mm Round Brilliant cut
950 Platinum (Cobalt alloy) setting
Comments:
Moissanite is silicon carbide that has an appearance similar to that of diamond. For the purposes of jewellery it is created by man. It was first found naturally occurring in a meteorite by Henri Moissan in 1893.
It has a Mohs hardness of 9.5 just below the 10 of diamond and has for a longtime been an alternative to those who have objections to the mining of diamonds.
