The first engagement ring of 2024
9th January 2024 - Customer location: rural Victoria
Happy New Year everyone. I write that knowing very well that the end of 2023 and start of 2024 has been for many people a nightmare. My thoughts to all those effected by the weather especially those in Queensland and Victoria.
I worked through Christmas and New Year and this ring was sent out in the first week of January to a customer in Victoria. The main diamond is a 1 carat round brilliant cut in E colour and VVs2 clarity. The ring was created in 18ct palladium white gold.
The shoulders have a total diamond weight of .10 carats set inside a mill-grain feature flowing down onto an engraved band.
With such a design almost as much work is placed into the side view as the top. The gallery (side section) takes this style of jewellery to the next level for me when I create it.
Anyone who knows my taste in jewellery will know very well that this vintage style of jewellery is what I enjoy creating the most. I consider it timeless and a real challenge to make.
As is the tradition for my wife and I we spent the first sunrise of the year together. This year our usual spot, Palm Cove, is right in the middle of the devastation left in Cairns following cyclone Jasper.
Last Friday I started my holidays and my wife has given me permission to roam in the wilderness alone……and I am taking the chance :)
I am still working on jobs from the computer whenever I can get an internet connection but I am hiking the Misty Mountains and any where else I end up in wilderness bliss.
At this stage I intend to resume work properly next week on the 15th of January. If you have any enquiries before then please feel free to call but the phone may ring out if I am not in reception range. If you leave a message or email me I will reply as soon as I get reception.
All the best for 2024 and for many I hope it gets much much better.
