The transforming ring

1.52 carat pear cut diamond in F colour Vs1 clarity.

The ring above is a young ladies engagement ring featuring a 1.52 carat pear cut diamond in F colour Vs1 clarity.  She will wear it up until just before the wedding and then we will transform it into her all in one bridal set.

No worrying about fitting a wedding ring, rings rubbing against each other or coming out of alignment. Some people pin their rings together to solve those issues but a big downside of pinning rings together is the problems that occur if they ever need to be resized.  Having one ring solves that problem.

If you look closely at the hole on the inside of the ring under the main diamond you will notice that the metal is white inside. There is a very good reason for this.

With large colourless diamonds set in yellow gold it is important to plate the metal behind the diamond white to stop as much as possible the yellow metal casting colour into the diamonds.  Being behind the diamonds that plating is pretty much permanent.

Once this ring has been remade I will update this post. I think most will be surprised with the transformation yet at the same time the engagement ring still being visible inside the new ring. The design is pretty much finalised but I will keep that a surprise for later.

Back in 2016 I used a similar process with another ladies fitted wedding and engagement ring set she had purchased elsewhere. She came to me wanting to add an eternity ring. She was already struggling for room on her finger.

On the left above is the two rings and on the right the new single ring with the addition of the sapphire and one more diamond symbolising the eternity ring.

Article: Three traditional rings celebrated in one.

Have a great end of the week and weekend.
