More travelling jewellery

31st July 2021 - Customer locations: Brisbane Qld and Christie Downs SA

In 2018 I made this engagement ring for a Brisbane customer. He created the design himself and the ring was made on 950 Platinum featuring a 1.22 carat trillion cut diamond. I remember the ring well as I delivered to him in Brisbane and the initial enquiry to make this ring was way back in 2012.

Last week saw the delivery of the matching wedding ring to them down in Brisbane. Like many other couples I have made rings for, wedding plans have been up in the air for quite a while now with COVID.

Continuing the trend of my jewellery travelling around the country, the pendant on the left above will be going to Christie Downs in South Australia. The Japanese kanji in this pendant reads “Bushido” which means “way of the warrior”. This is a common phrase use by two Australian Karate styles, Zen do kai and Bushi kai.

In My World this week I say good bye to a friend. When I am not at work I spend a lot of time in Barron Gorge and have got to know a few of the kayakers over the years. Steve I know the best and he left Cairns today to head to Tasmania. Yesterday on his last day in Cairns I took him high up the side of Barron Gorge to share with him a tree I discovered earlier this year. He is in the photo of that huge Fig Tree below.

All the best in Tassie Steve!
