NAIDOC week 2021

1st July 2021

3.5cm Warup on the right.

Last year I asked entrants to email me their favourite island and the thing that made it special. This year I am asking entrants to teach me about the food of Zenadth Kes.

Important: As this piece is a Zenadth Kes design, and my promise to the community is that I only ever make them for Zenadth Kes Islanders, only Zenadth Kes Islanders can enter. Thank you for your understanding.

The pendant can be worn horizontally and vertically

This year the competition prize is a 3.5 cm Warup in 9ct gold that sells for $540. This the only one I have at the moment so even if you wanted to buy one I cannot sell it to you. Enter the competition :)

Good luck.

How to enter

Pendant being worn vertically.

You must also be living in Australian as I will only post to an Australian address.

I want to learn more about Zenadth Kes so I am going to do that through the competition. You enter via email following these steps. You can only enter once:

  • Tell me your favourite Zenadth Kes food.

  • Optional: If you email me a recipe I will give you an additional entry in the draw.

  • Place the above information in an email with the subject “NAIDOC 2021”.

  • Confirm in the email that you live in Australia as I will only post the items to an Australian address.

  • Email me before the end of day 11th July 2021 - david@davidtaylor.com.au

I will do the draw sometime on the 12th of July and publish the winner here.

I no longer publicise this competition on my business Facebook page that has about 4000 followers so if you enter your chances are much higher than previous years. I will announce it on my Instagram page but that has less than 100 followers.

Last year I think 30 people sent in entries that were all a joy to read. Quality over quantity works for me.

After quite a few years this will be the last year that I will be running the NAIDOC week competition. I have some other projects in the First Nations community that I will doing going forward. I may come back to it later but for now this will be the last one for NAIDOC week.
