Love is in the air
5th February 2021
This bracelet was a custom order Valentine`s Day gift. The gold pieces are created in 9ct rose gold and fitted to a black neoprene.
The main feature is a gold heart with three hammer set diamonds. The catch is an arrow wrapped around the neoprene to pinch it and create a sliding catch. The end caps are diamond set roses.
I got the idea to experiment with this style of bracelet after making the above South Sea Pearl piece late in 2020. A big thank you to that customer for helping me experiment until I got the design working properly, especially the slider catch.
This rose gold heart also features a custom message engraved to the back plate that seals it. The photo above is of a draft plate I engraved for the customer as I proposed this feature.
The beauty of using neoprene is that once it is worn out we can ready and inexpensively replace it reusing all the gold pieces.
Before I go for the week a big thank you to those that have been patient as I have been dealing with a very sore knee. Especially those customers that I had to cancel appointments on.
The knee is a fair bit better and now that the water has dropped in Barron Gorge I am back rock hopping in there. Moving a little slower than usual but back in there and it is stunning after all that rain we have had.
Have a great weekend.
