Simple and symbolic

28th November 2021 - Customer locations: Palm Cove and Mission Beach

Lotus pin in aged 9ct yellow gold.

Some of the pieces I make are quite simple in appearance. What they lack in complexity they make up for in meaning to the owners. Today I am going to share two with you. The first is the pin above. The Lotus pin is symbolic of the brides nationality and is a gift to the groom’s parents to be worn on the wedding day.

The next piece is an orange sapphire engagement ring. We explored some more detailed designs but the customer wanted the simplest of solitaires to set their heirloom sapphire into.

This ring is all about the gem, the person it was once worn by and the couple that it now represented. it was made in 18ct yellow gold, slightly domed band, four claw setting with the gem fairly low on the finger.

Gordonvale to Cairns from the summit of Walsh`s Pyramid.

From My World this week a photo from the summit of Walsh`s Pyramid. I usually do the 3 klm walk up the nearly 1 klm high mountain once a year. Sort of like a gauge to see how old I am getting :)

This years climb I did last Friday evening and whilst I had a great time I did not get any great photos, the above photo is from 2019`s climb up the Pyramid. Pretty sore this weekend so not sure if I will do it next year. Hope you are all having a great weekend.
