NAIDOC week 2020 jewellery winners

posted 5th July 2020 - update 13th July

The NAIDOC week prize won by RiRi Anderson in 2017.

As with previous years, at the end of NAIDOC week I will draw out the winners. This year I have 3 pieces shown below. First name drawn gets piece number 1 and so on for the second and third.

13th July 2020 update - The winners

Thank you to everyone that entered. It was a highlight of the week reading them. The winners are as follow:

Warup 3cm - Karen Kairupan (Sunshine Coast)

Waru - Billy Thaiday (Townsville)

Hibiscus, Dhari & Star - Frankie Clive (Cairns)

How to enter

Important: As these pieces are Zenadth Kes designs, and my promise to the community is that I only ever make them for Zenadth Kes Islanders, only Zenadth Kes Islanders can enter for these three.

There will be something for non Torres Strait Islanders that I will announce later in the week. Thank you for your understanding. You must also be living in Australian as I will only send out to an Australian address.

I want to learn more about Zenadth Kes so I am going to do that through the competition. You enter via email following these steps:

  • Tell me your favourite family island, which relative is connected to it and the best thing about that island. It can be an act of nature, dance, food, animal, the people…. literally anything that makes the Island special.

  • Optional: If you have time please teach me the traditional word for your favourite thing and as best you can an English translation…..if there is no word in English.

  • Place the above information in an email with the subject “NAIDOC 2020”.

  • Confirm in the email that you live in Australia as I will only post the items to an Australian address.

  • Email me before the end of day 12th July 2020 - david@davidtaylor.com.au

Now onto the three pieces that can be won.

Prize # 1

Prize # 2

Waru - DP959
9ct yellow and white gold
2.1cm in length
1.8cm in width

Prize # 3

A few more things…..

You can only enter via email once but……… if you have purchased a Zenadth Kes piece from me in the last year you will get an automatic additional entry as a thank you.

Feel free to share this draw on social media in the community….in fact please do …that is real social media. Websites like Facebook only show my posts if I give them money and I would rather use that money to give away jewellery to you. For that reason I will only be using my website for the competition.
