Getting the size right

August 6th 2009

Some rings cannot be properly resized and it is important you know this when deciding on your wedding ring design.

Recently I added the design to the right to the range of wedding rings I make. The ring pictured was made for Daniel and he chose to have his ring made in 14 carat yellow and white gold.

This design is made in 6 pieces and then assembled. To make sure that the size is correct a silver draft of the same width was made for Daniel to try before we made his actual ring.

Two rings the same size but different widths can vary greatly in how they feel on the finger. As it is not possible to have finger sizers in every width, I make a silver draft which I can alter if necessary to determine the exact size for the customer.
