What was old is new
October 7th 2009
Jewellery is often handed down from one person to another with a sentimental value attached. Sometimes the attachment is to the design of the piece and other times to the materials. The latter was the case with the rings that we recycled for Sam.
Sam in Western Australia had received some jewellery from his Mother in the hope that they could be used in making his wedding ring.
We worked on a designed together and after some re-alloying of his gold, I was able to make his new 14ct yellow and white gold ring. The diamonds used were also from the old rings we recycled.
He now has a ring that has a connection to his Mother, as well as saving some money in the process.
