Yellow-faced Honeyeater

Abattoir Swamp carpark, November 2021.

Male and females look alike. Identified by the yellow stripe under the eye with black above and below it. One the face there is also a white ear tuft and spot above/behind the eye.

Hasties Swamp, November 2021.

Primary food source is nectar but they also take manna, honeydew and insects.

The birds I see are are race barroni and confined to the highlands of Far North Queensland. They like open woodlands, parks and gardens.
